Total Recall - Splattered Oil
At the scene when Melina and Quade are about to enter the alien reactor room, the giant digging machine attacks them with the man inside it. When Arnold drills the hole in the oil wire it explodes and splatters all over him. In the very next scene they show a front view of him facing the machine holding the drill there is absolutely no oil on his arm, shirt or face.

I think they may have been refering to this scene in Last Action Hero, when Ahhnold climbs out of the La Brea tar pits. He's completely covered with thick black slime (actually, it looks more like chocolate syrup). Then he takes a rag and wipes his face, and it's all gone- must be the quicker-picker-upper!

Uh, that was intentional, the entire movie of "Last Action Hero" is a parody on movies, that scene was making fun of movie slip-ups and how easy something as sticky as "tar" comes off in movies,
