Ray - Coloreds Only?
The movie Ray, starring Jamie Foxx, was great, but there was a bit of a slip-up when Ray was on the bus on his way to Seattle. When he first got on the bus, the driver said there was a seat for him in the back in the colored section. There was even a sign and an area designated just for "the coloreds"(whatever color that may be), but when they showed Ray later on the same bus during the same ride, there are two white sailors sitting behind him.

On buses at this time, the "whites only" area was really only for whites (meaning a 'colored' would not be allowed to sit there), but if there were no seats available, a 'colored' even in the "coloreds only" area must give up his seat to a white. If the bus was full, the white sailors could well have been sitting in the "coloreds only" area.

I just watched the extended version of the DVD which includes deleted scenes shown exactly where they were cut from. This scene is continued as the bus crosses over into the North, where the Coloreds Only section sign is changed to another sign which permits Coloreds to sit wherever they like. That is why you see Ray seated in front of the white sailors.
