After Uncle Rico hits Napoleon in the face with a piece of meat, and he begins to sit back down you can see him spit his food into his hand and throw it on his plate when he sits down. In real life Uncle Rico is a Vegan and that is why he does this.
Actually, it's a slip-up because Jon Gries spitting out his steak shouldn't be seen by the audience. He probably thought the camera wasn't aimed at him.

This is completely a slip-up. You arent' supposed to see him spit his food out, it's not an egg, because it was not done on purpose. It is a slip-up. He also doesn't drink milk. Watch the DVD with commentary, they talk about it.

I doubt that's true. I mean if the actor was a true vegan, couldn't they just get a soy steak or something, not write it into the script that he had to spit it out...

Actually, it is true. Jon Gries, who plays Uncle Rico, is a vegan and never swallowed the meat that he chews in the movie. It states this on imdb.com. I don't, however, see how this is a slipup. If it was done on purpose, why would it be a slipup?
