Holes - The Trip and Laugh
When Stanley and Zero are sitting in the hole with lizards all over them, Mr. Pendanski starts running and trips into a hole about 50 yards away. Stanley and Zero then laugh at him for tripping into the hole. But they are sitting in the hole which is at least 6 feet deep. How would they be able to see him fall into a hole 50 yards away if they can't even see above their own hole?

I think it's a true slipup because they may be five feet tall, but your not that tall when your sitting down, and they are sitting in the hole.

Exactly. They laughed not because they saw but heard. I believe when he tripped and fell, noise was made which was very well loud enough for Stan and Zero to hear.

Colby, the hole was a deeper than five feet because Stanley and Zero had to dig more to find the treasure. They wouldn't be able to see over the top of the whole, but I agree that they probably heard him fall.
