When Anne (Megan Follows) first arrives at Green Gables, and Marilla (Colleen Dewhurst) shows her to a room upstairs, Anne's hat brushes Marilla's face as she walks into the room. Marilla is forced to stifle a laugh as she leaves to go downstairs.
