Go to the end of the movie where Frank is racing toward the finish line. He is supposed to be riding bareback but as he passes the prince you get a glimpse of Hidalgo wearing a saddle!!! I didn't notice it till the 100th time I watched the movie, and yeah I know that he wasn't really riding bareback, but they didnt do a very good job of covering this up.
