In the scene near the end of the film, when Ivy is going through the woods to the towns, she falls into the big hole. She is walking straight, facing the hole, but when she falls, she is turned around, and now she is hanging onto the side of the hole, facine the OPPOSITE direction of which she fell!!
She had noticed the hole with her cane and was turing around and walking back when the ground caved in around the hole. Therefore she was facing the right way when she was hanging on to the wall of the hole.
Actually if you look closly you will notice that she infact DOES turn around, because she notices the hole. So infact she is facing the right direction.
