Gothika - How Fast?
the error happens after the lead borrows the guards car and begins driving it down the road at night. We see her driving and the car somehow continues accelerating, even though she isn't stepping on the gas pedal. We see a shot of the speedometer, as it creeps up to 120 MPH. Stop the film now.
The car she stole was a Chevrolet caprice/impala, the former of which was made from 1977-1990, in the body style shown on screen. On that make of car, the speedometer only went to 85. on the screen, it goes to at least 140.

Maybe it is Rachel's ghost that is controlling the car's speed.
