When Legolas and Gandalf walk into the Golden Hall at Edoras, Legolas looks like he is escorting Gandalf. After you hear the doors close, Legolas turns around to look at them and lets go of Gandalf’s arm. In the next shot of them, Legolas and Gandalf have their arms linked again. Then, once again, it shows them and they have let go.
