In one of the very last scenes, the hit man is

trying to run over John Wayne with his black sports car with a standard transmission (they

show him shift it into gear earlier in the movie)

you can see one hand on the steering wheel and

the other is holding a gun out the window but the

car is shifting!! Its very obvious.
