In the night scene where Merlin is talking to the troops after battle on the hill top. Merlin decides to use some of his magic and make a flame on his staff to get the soldiers attention but if you look very closely at about 56 minutes and 20 seconds down at Merlin's feet you can see the hose connected to Merlin's staff which is fueling his oh soo magical flame.
