In the scene where they show Art sleeping in Russ's top bunk, you can see that there is a lot of space between the top bunk and the ceiling. Now, when Clark goes into the attic and falls through the ceiling, you can see that he falls onto the top bunk. If you look, the ceiling has appeared to have gone closer to the top bunk, creating less space than showed in the previous scene.
