A little into the movie, after the Rites of Passage, Kunta Kenta is thrown into the cage. When he is thrown in there there is dirt and sand on half his face and some of his hair. But then when it comes back, his face and hair are perfectly clean, even if he dusted himself off, some sand would still have stayed in his hair.
