Scream - Halloween
The kids at the party are watching the first Halloween. They start watching the movie sometime before the curfew, which is 9:00 p.m. During all the slashings and killings, we see glimpses of the movie Halloween. The scenes are out of order. Also, when Stu and Billy have Sydney in the kitchen, it's midnight, and the movie is still going. Halloween is not a three hour movie, and I don't believe anybody stopped it. They could have.

In Scream when they are watching the film, it does get paused, this is when one of the guys didn't know the rules of a how to survive a horror movie, the film is then paused for an explanation to be given.

From what I remember, Stu pauses the movie, to explain the rules of a horror movie.. It's paused for quite a while plus they don't actually UN-Pause it when Stu says "I'll be right back!" At least WE don't see it, so God knows how long it was paused for... Plus I THINK they also pause it, or put it in slow mo' while he's showing Jaime Lee Curtis' 'Breast shot' ... I COULD be wrong, but as an actor myself I usually look for things like that lol {I'm talking about slip ups NOT breast shots lol}

Also, when they are watching Halloween and the guy from the movie gets killed, one of the characters say that they always mess up on the blood, that it never looks real. In Halloween you never ever see blood except from Lori's arm later in the movie.

I think they rewind to watch the parts they want to see again. I also think they watch more than one movie, notice they had like 3 Jamie Lee Curtis movies.
