Matrix, The - 'Free Your Mind' - and See the Blobby Shape
In the scene after Morpheus and Neo have been fighting, Chapter 16 (and about 1 min) it is the scene where they enter the 'Jump program'. After Morpheus says free your mind jumps, Neo walks back, says "Free your mind", then starts to run. When he is running, pause it. It looks like he is inside a blobby-shape the shape of his body; where his body has been 'superimposed' on the background.

Well, it's not surprising that they've got a "BLOB" of Neo on the background I mean, it was all originally done on a green screen and then they put the background in... So he's most likely got a shadow on the green screen and they tried to remove it. Don't forget most of the movies is done on green screens and a lot of the stuff the did in the movie was partly experimental with some screen shots!! so give 'em a break!!!

This shot was not taken against a green screen. It was shot on location. The dark aura you see around Neo as he runs is in fact the space where the editors have left out where they have touched-up the brightness of the background. Normally this process would have been done more accurately (most scenes have been touched up but you just don't notice) but this shot must have been taken in a hurry.

There were a few "brand new/ground breaking" f/x techniques made especially for this film. Anyway, I thought that for a sci-fi flick you had to suspend disbeleif.... (just a little of course)

Your screen is probably too bright. Turn down the brightness, and you'll definately see it.

You'll notice that Neo is in the blob shape right through until he bounces and lands back on the road.
