When our heroes are cornered in the cave, they find they can escape under the water, and so they take off all heavy armor and weapons. As they then swim out in the ocean, you see they are carrying nothing. When the final battle approaches, however, you see the the Arab (played by Banderas) has his curved sword back, which just before he had left in the enemy's cave.
