I have seen tons of these kind of things in the show, and i think thats just the way the producers make them. It makes them funnier, ya know?

JohnnyBoy has made a very valid point. Also, sometimes the Krusty Krab is right down the street, and sometimes it's a mile and a half away. Same thing with the Chum Bucket and the Krusty Krab.

This is true...but the animators probably did it 'cause they wanted to get straight to the point (spongebob sneaking in patrick's house and stealing the box). But it's still a slipup.
