Spider-Man - Cell Phone Dial Tone?
After the green goblin makes his first public appearance, Harry is on his cell phone talking to MJ and she is telling him how amazing SpiderMan was. Harry is becoming obviously jealous, then MJ ends the conversation rather abruptly. All we hear from Harry's end of the phone is a "click" immediately followed by a dial tone ... except cell phones don't have dial tones.

You never hear a dial tone when someone hangs up on you anyway. You have to hang up the phone to hear a dial tone. Otherwise you just hear silence.

That must be a special cell phone you have. Every cell phone I've ever come across in my life doesn't have a dial tone. I didn't even pick up on the fact that it was a cell phone when I first saw the movie, but even if it were a land line ... regardless of who called who first, when one person hangs up on another, you don't hear a dial tone right away.

When you pick up the cell phone, it does not have a dial tone. When someone hangs up before you do and you listen, you do, infact, here a dial tone.
