Before the wife gets killed, she sees the good guy outside, and so she knows the bad one is in the ceiling asking for the gun. It's supposed to be night, but when she looks out the window and sees the good guy, it's daylight.
Actually, you are wrong. When Gabes wife is about to go into the house you see that its starting to get lighter outside. So it was late. When she looks out the window and sees Gabe on the roof, it was a new day.

In that part... if you remember from before when gabes wife was going home with the cop squad, you could see the sky was getting lighter. So what I'm saying is that when she looked out the window, that was a whole new day.

It is daylight because of the rotation of the earth. It is probably early in the morning. It was night when he was almost killed by Lawless. So going to the hospital, getting checked out, getting almost assasinated, and trying to get back home probably took all night.
