In the episode "Chariots of War" Xena has left Gabs at the Tavern to forge ahead. As she rides, she is clearly not wearing her battle armour, simply the leather underclothes. Howerver, as soon as she hears the village under attack, she rides in wearing, you guessed it, her full armour.
