Mummy, The - A Camel Escape?
At the end of the film we see our hero's leave on camelback.
But the question is, how did the camels get there? When Imhoteph brought Evelyn and Beni in the sandstorm, and Rick, Jonathan and Ardeth Bay flew there.
There is a scene in the script, just after the two expeditions reach Hamunaptra, where one of the Americans asks Beni where all these stray camels came from, and he says "they belong to the dead, they wait years for their masters to return before leaving"
This scene is not in the film, there is no explanation of strays. Suddenly in the final sequence at Hamunaptra, we have these camels.
woops.

Hollyn Ledger writes:
if you had read the book you would have seen it said something like this "Beni had come out with the treasure and loaded them on to the camels that were outside still waiting for their dead masters to return. so you see the camels are very loyal they waited.

That's Wolfie's point. The movie doesn't say anything about camels waiting around, so in the movie the camels just kinda appear out of nowhere.

Nigel Sutherland writes:
Camels? Loyal? Whoever wrote this has never worked with them! They are the most morose and moody beasts on the planet. Left unattended they will run for it, and even if you tether them you have to have someone watch them every minute as they will try to chew through their halters to get away.

i thought the egyptian that stayed behind to hold off the "soldiers" gave them to them. he also hints at the treasure in their packs.

But if the camels were waiting for their masters, then would they have willingly went with Jonathan and Evy (I think that's how her name is spelled)! I mean, if I was one of those camels and I spent all that time waiting for my master, I wouldn't go with just anybody. That's a little suspicious, don't ya think?

this got me too, very annoying. I mean why is there so many? when they went to the city first there was only 5 maybe 6 camels and the rest where horses now there is a whole herd!
