When Clouseau introduces himself to the Phantom's wife
and butler, he says that he is "the chief troubleshooter
for the telephone company". Unfortunately, his words come
out as "chief troubleshitter".
The inspecter is French so some of the words he says sound wrong, like when he was trying to expain to the butler that he was there to fix the phone, and at the hotel when he wanted a room. It's to add to the humour.
