In the scene right after Micheal tells Sam to take his bath, he goes to thr refrigerator and get the milk. When he is about to drink it, he falls over in pain, and you can see that the whole top of the milk carton is open. Then, later, when Lucy is home, she picks up the milk carton, and it is only half way open.
