Andy Griffith Show, The - When Did They Graduate?
In episdoe #82, Class Reunion, Andy and Barney are said to be graduates of the class of 1945. In episode #176, The Return of Barney Fife, there is a banner at the class reunion that reads Class of 1948. In addition, both Andy and Barney mentioned having served in WWII (Andy in episode #6 Ellie Comes To Town, Barney in episode #29 Quiet Sam) which would have been impossible since the war ended in 1945.

Not so! Many WWII veterans returned to school after the war, some were even allowed to play school sports, even though they were considerably older than their classmates. Consequently, it WOULD have been possible for them to have graduated in 1948.

I agree with the lady from Tennessee. My father joined the Navy to serve his country at the age of 17. I don't know the exact year but I do know he served 4 years and when the war was over he went back to high school and graduated.
