Bring It On - Gymnast? Yeah Right!
In the part of the movie when try-outs are going on to replace Carver, Missy comes in and tells them she is a hard core gymnast, and cheerleading is the closest thing to gymnastics because they don't have it at their school. Well Whitney doesn't really think she can do it, so she gives her instructions do prove it she starts with "front handspring, etc." well as you see Missy starts her series with a round-off, which you could not possibly get into a front handspring! The producers obviously weren't gymnasts themselves!

Yes, I realize she says she's a hard core gymnast, but maybe she's like me, having a sucky memory..I mean, even if I were a hard core gymnast, and someone rattled all that off to me speedy like that, I'd forget it by the time I got to the other side of the gym. Maybe she was just trying to show she could do something, maybe not exactly what the other girl said to do. That's how I always interpreted it, anyways..

The first time I saw the movie I noticed this, being a gymnast for over 10 years. There is no way she could've done a roundoff for momentum, because if she did she would've went back from the direction she came from.

I noticed that too! I don't think you can do a round-off then a FRONT hand spring!

Maybe she started off with a round-off to build up momentum to begin doing the front hand spring and so on and so forth stunt?

I Noticed this too the first time i watched the movie. She clearly doesn't do a front hand spring at all in the tumbling series. She starts out with a cartwheel or round-off, whatever, but she did mess up in the begining. They should have made sure if she was a "hard core gymnast" that she knew the difference between those. A real gymnast would.
