In the scene where Rick is running with his son in his arm two of the little mummy's come at him and he pulls out his shotgun which is a lever action he shouts twice with out reloading. when you shout a lever action you reload after every shot.

It was a handgun and you don't have to reload every time you shoot something and the little mummies are called pygmies
