American Pie 2 - Ah....My Shoes

OK...Jim seems to be stuck to himself and the video cassette, can't quite turn the door knob, in-fact he can't do much of anything right?!? So help me explain how he gets his shoes on and tied when he runs out on to the roof. I know some people keep their shoes tied and just slide them on, but have you seen that done without their hands?
