When we first see Hannibal in Italy it's when he's giving a lecture in a library/university. The police captain is sitting at the back, when another guy comes in, and sits down in front of him. Now, I can't remember which is which, but one of them takes out his cigarettes and offers one to the other, who declines, but in the next scene the one who offered a cigarette is not smoking, and the one who declined is.
