The scene is when the kid was being arrested and accidentally kicks the officer in the head. When the officers search his pockets and find the bloody knife it is quickly dropped onto the hood of the car. The knife lands with the blade horizontal; the next shot is a view of the same knife from the kid's perspective and the knife is laying with the blade edge up.
