In the episode of Three's Company where Mr. Firley keeps telling the tenants to stop making noise, they accidentally hit a hole in the wall. They hold up a painting to cover up the hole in the wall. When Mr. Firley comes to look at the wall it is obvious that he can see that hole even though his character does not see it.
