When Brian has reached his house and stopped walking and is talking to the ex-leper, you can see Brian's mother in the background, climbing the stairs and then kicking down the door to their house.

Then the leper leaves and the camera flicks to the mother, approaching the door *again* and kicking it down. Nice editing, guys!
