In the scene where all the people are running away from the cops, yearbook girl asks William to sign her yearbook. Instead, he knocks it out of her hand into the pool. But if you watch, it falls into the pool, then the camera does a close-up and it falls from the air again!
Yeah! I noticed that too when I watched the movie again last week. At first I thought it was to emphasize that it was falling in the water, but now I agree with you!

You are wrong! If you watch it carefully, in the first camera angle, it hits the water and skims like a rock in a pond. In the second closer angle, it is just after it skimmed. So it hits the water, then bounces, then hits and sinks.
