*THIS IS NOT A SLIP-UP!!!* Just because she has a Washington license plate does not mean she doesn't live in Vegas. When you move to a different state you are not automatically issued a new plate. Look around next time when you are out and you will notice not everyone has the license plate of the state that they are in!

Take it from someone who has seen this movie a million times, this is not a slip up. Firstly, it's the teacher's car - remember, Arlene's only vehicle is the broken down truck that Jerry fixed. Secondly, remember in the first scene in the school when the teacher said "haven't you ever seen a new teacher before?"? Well, at first I thought that it just meant that they were new to the school, but then I realized that so was he so his license hadn't been changed over yet. Plus, it said in the book (really good by the way) that he had just moved from Washington.
