OK...it's a movie...this kid is how old? 6, 7, 8? Do you expect him to be superman? Of course they don't match. If he really threw it, it wouldn't have gone that far at all...I think you need to start looking for some REAL slip-ups

I think it makes it more funny seeing a little 5 or 6 year old kid throwing a ball obviously a lot farther than he really can.
