In the part where Haillie and Sid are in the back of the cop car, they stop at a traffic light. The killer comes up to the car, knocks out the window, pulls the guy out of the car and jumps in. notice how he has to take the car out of park to move it. they even have the camera pointed at the shifter. this could have been avoided by maybe putting on the emergency brake (to keep it from rolling while the scene is going on).
