Dungeons & Dragons - Ridley's Sword

Go to the part in the end where Ridley is fighting Damadar.Ridley drops his sword right before he throws Damadar over the side of the balcony. He then runs around to the other side of the castle to fight Profion. He does not take his sword with him. After a short struggle with Profion Ridley gets a hold of the staff and uses HIS sword to smash the stone in it. Where did he get his sword that he had left on the other side of the balcony?
