Coyote Ugly - Accent
There is not a specific part for this slip-up, just watch the movie and you'll notice it. Violet and her father do not have accents at all but Violet's best friend has a very strong New Jersey Accent. And Violet has been living there her whole life. Doesn't make sense.

If you will notice, when Violet calls her dad after he finds out that she works at the bar and the answering maching picks up he then has a accent when he says his name. I thought that was funny.

She has the accent here and there. it kind of comes and goes, but yeah I noticed that too. She should have a strong one.

Violet and her father both have New Jersey accents, they just aren't as thick as Gloria's.

actually....if you listen to the answering machine when violet calls her dad after he saw her dancing on the bar there is a new jersey accent there...even though he doesn't use it through out the movie.

I'm from NJ and if you ask me, the friend sounds like she is from NY not NJ.

They do have slight accents, and they show up best when they get angry. Still, not everyone from a certain area necessarily has an accent. I live in Texas, and half of the people I know born and raised here don't sound in the least bit "southern".

People from NJ don't all sound like that. Actually the majority of people in NJ don't. How do I know? I've lived here my entire life, and I don't say "New Joisey" and nobody I've ever met has.

Not everyone in the north have really strong accents. So it's possible that Violet and her father just didn't have as strong an accent as her friend.

The friend, Gloria has a Brooklyn accent, NOT a New Jersey one, I've lived in New Jersey almost my entire life, and not everyone is as susceptible to accents as other people, dropping 'r's does not constitute a New Jersey accent

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and I don't have an accent, just because someone is born and raised somewhere doesn't mean they have to talk like them.

I was born in raised in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts and my entire family speaks in the "a"-less accent, but I don't have it. There are lots of reasons why someone wouldn't have an accent so stop looking for stupid things that aren't even "slip-ups".

I'm from Oklahoma, and I only have a drawl on certain words like "word" or "seven" for instance. You hear a little bit of something every now and then, that resembles an accent. What I'm more curious about is Adam Garcia's (Kevin O'Donnell) accent. It doesn't even sound real.

Who cares about Violet's accent or her father's accent. What about Cami?? If you listen to her talk it either sounds like she's hiding an actual native accent from Europe or something. Maybe she really is a Russian Tease.

Rainangel555- The actress who plays Cammie is polish, shes not "hiding" her accent, shes nicknamed the russian teese because shes meant to be russian in the movie (WITH an accent)AND Adam Garcia's accent is real, because hes really from Australia, just like in the movie!!!By the way, who's to say what a person's accent should be like anyway, everyone talks differently and its good to see movies that don't use the stereotypical expected accents!!

Piper Perabo (violet) is actually from New Jersey so she does have an authentic New Jersey accent even if its not your stereotypical idea of a NJ accent!!
