Highlander, the Series - Collapsible Sword?
The immortals always carry their swords around with them wherever they go in case they get into a fight with another immortal. But how do they carry them in their jackets without getting cut. They don't have any scabbards for them. Duncan ( the main character) usually wears a trench-coat, so he can carry his sword around in it, but what about when he takes it off? He doesn't take his sword out and sometimes he folds up his coat. Does his sword collapse into the handle?

After a hundred or so years of practice, I'm sure the immortals have learned ways to keep their swords hidden while performing everyday/mundane tasks--how to fold long coat "normally" with a sword hidden inside, etc.

They don't always carry their swords with them. All three featured characters (Connor, Duncan, Amanda) have bee caught without their weapons at various times. There may be some specific instances where he folds his coat and draws his sword in the same scene, but I can't think of any. BTW, I have a trench coat and a full length Katana. You can stash the one in the other without cutting yourself, provided you don't fall wrong.
