Frighteners, The - Poltergeists?
Near the beginning of the movie, when the ghosts were messing with the curly - haired woman's house, during the part when she was laying on her bed and it started to fly around the air, when the camera pans out you can see the black and white machine that is actually moving the bed.

It is a lifting apparatus. If you look at it properly it has a huge black concertina on a trolley. Definately machinery, not Ray's rowing machine.

It's his rowing machine, the first shot you can see under the bed completely and there its nothing but his rowing machine does dissapear

I don't think that was the lifting apparatus, I think that was the rowing machine he had just been using. I believe that was where he put it when he was done...but that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
