Ritchie is holding up an American Flag in one episode. Since the show was about the 50's, the flag only had a certain amount of stars in the 50's. There were only 48 stars on the flag in the 50's. (The 49th for Alaska was added in 1959, and the 50th for Hawaii was added in 1960.) Ritchie's holding up a flag with all 50 stars.
What episode are you talking about, and what season. after 1980, at least once, Richie Cunningham refered to it being the "60's" so it is possible depending on which season you are refering to
