In the part of the movie where Joe Jackson first appears at the baseball field made by Kevin Costner. Costner pitches batting practice to Jackson. In the movie, Jackson bats right handed, when in reality he really batted left handed. Pretty big mess up!

Being a pinch hitter doesn't mean he can bat with either hand. Being able to bat with either hand is a switch hitter.

Shoe less Joe Jackson was actually a pinch hitter, so he could bat either way. But his natural swing was opposite his throwing.
