Declaration of Independance - Spelling
Last paragraph of the Declaration of Independence our Fore-Fathers misspelled the word British by spelling it Brittish. Just a bit of useless info.

Liss is right. If you look at many old documents you will see many words spelled differently than we do now. Speaking of spelling, on your title you spelled Independence wrong.

Actually spelling of words has changed throughout the course of history. In those days words were spelled differently.

if you read old documents or quotes, they tack E's onto the end of some words (olde, shoppe) and put two of a letter that there now is only one of (mellon, and in this case, Brittish). in those days they did not have a standardized dictionary, however they could think to spell a word was right.
