Big Lebowski, The - Treehorn Drawing
While The Dude is in Mr. Treehorn's house, Treehorn receives a phone call and writes something on a pad of paper. Once off the phone, Treehorn leaves the room leaving The Dude alone. The Dude then gets up and shades in the next paper on the pad revealing what Mr. Treehorn wrote. It turned out to be a drawing of a nude man. About this time Mr. Treehorn is coming back, so The Dude rushes back to his position and shoves the paper in his pocket after crumpling it up. Later The Dude is taken to the Malibu Beach police station where the police chief searches his wallet. In the wallet is The Dude's "Ralphs" card and a neatly folded piece of paper. When the chief unfolds the paper, the nude man drawing is revealed. Interesting how the crumpled paper got from The Dude's pocket, was folded nice and neat, and then put in his wallet all while being very drugged up.

That is indeed a slip-up. I just saw the movie and there's no way the cops could've flattened out that piece of paper unless they ironed it out. Besides, why would they? What do they care if the piece of paper is crumpled in his pocket or neatly folded in his wallet>

The dude was set up, thats the whole point of the scene. The cops are dirty and are in on the setup with "Treehorn". They obviously emptied his pockets and set him up while he was drugged.
