Clueless - A Few Slip-Ups
1) This one everyone has probably already heard of, but Mr. Hall, (Cher's debate teacher), calls her "Cher Horowitcz", but later in the movie when they show her father's name on her report card, it says, "Mel HAMILTON". It also says that on the credits. I doubt Cher would have a different last name than her biological father.
2) In the scene where Cher and Di, (Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash), go into the office to see Ms. Geist, their social studies teacher, Travis, (Breckin Meyer) is there, talking to Ms. Geist. Ms. Geist says to Travis, "Next class let's try to remember to bring our textbooks". However, later in the movie, Travis asks Cher, "You have Smith, right?" (I don't know if that was the teacher's name, I can't remember it), but then Cher says, "Geist". From the earlier conversation, didn't it sound like Travis has Ms. Geist, too?
3) This is another one everyone has probably heard of, but here goes: In the scene where Cher, Dionne, and Tai are in the restaurant and that hot waiter walks by, if you look closely at Cher, you can see her either mouth the line, "Ugh, I hate muscles", or she already said it and was dubbed. Anyway, she says that with a disgusted look on her face, but then a milisecond later she says happily, "Survey says?" And THEN she says the line, "Ugh, I hate muscles". I know it doesn't sound that bad here, but when you see it on the movie, it obviously looks like a mistake.

Actually, FYI, it is not uncommon for people to have a different surname to their fathers, actually my own surname is different to my father, and my parents arent divorced or anything. Secondly, Cher and Travis could both have Mrs Geist as a teacher, although they do not necessarily have to be in the same class. Many teachers also teach more than one subject.

Actually if you look close enough, you will see the real mistake is that it also lists Cher's last name as Hamilton on her report card when Mr. Hall had said Cher Horowitz in class.

O.K. for one thing, my dad and I both have different lasts names also. But maybe the person who wrote the report card made a mistake or something, because I know FOR A FACT that her last name is Horowitz. For the teacher thing, Ms. Geist might have other classes with Travis or something. And I have no clue about the muscle thing...SORRY!

There are a two things wrong with this. For one, it is possible for someone to have to seperete names from their parents, and it is also possible for someone to use one name and be registered as another. The second one is that Ms. Guiest told Travis that the next time he was in class to remember his books. This does not mean that he had her next class. ciao.

I agree with the restaurant scene. I recently taped the video off of a television station, and was looking at that scene when she said it. Something was obviously screwed up there because as I rewound and played once again, her lips didn't match her words.

You're all forgetting something about high school classes. They change every semester. Maybe they both had Ms. Geist during their first semester, but not the second.

Actaully, the last name mixup was a mistake. Originally, their last name was suposed to be Hamilton, but they changed it to Horowitz.

If you go to Amazon.com and go under the quotes and trivia section of Clueless, "Hamilton" could be an inside joke from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," which the director also did. But, somewhere I think I read that "Hamilton" was the name of one of the crewmembers and was thrown in for fun.
