Men of Honor - Which Leg Is Amputated?
In the film, Cuba Gooding Junior's character's left leg is amputated. When he is suiting up for his test in the new diving suit, a body double is used for his mirror image from the waist down. The body double has an amputated leg. First of all, even though it is a mirror image, it is clear that the amputated leg is the model's right leg; not the left. And, to get really technical, Cuba Gooding's character's amputation was below the knee on his left leg; the model's amputation is above the knee on his right.

But in the DVD version, it is his left leg, and the mirror image is correct, and I dont know if you were watching the movie or the DVD, but in the DVD, its the correct way.

Aphrodite is right. In the DVD, it shows the left leg in the mirror. Also, it actually was Gooding's leg that appeared in the mirror. Just listen to the director commentary for that part. Cuba says himself that it was him standing there and they just edited it out later. It's also cool how they did the next scene where he was putting on the fake leg.
