Witches, The - Delayed Action Mouse Maker
OK, you know how the clock is set at a certain time to make the Mouse Maker work when it goes off? Well, Luke never told his Grandmother this. But if you read it very carefully, when the Grandma and Luke are witnessing the witches being turned into mice, the Grandma says something like, "It must be the clocks that are being set off to make the mouse maker work." Now, if you remember, Luke never DID tell his grandmother this. Pretty bad.

this is not a slip-up. on page 130 (paperback version) it says "So then I told my grandmother about the Delayed Action Mouse-Maker..." so then she would have known about it.

Different copies of the book say different things. In one copy of the book I have, (I have several copies)it doesn't even say that Luke's name is Luke. So in your copy, it may not mention it, but in other copies it does.

Just as we are not taken to when Luke or his Grandmother go to the bathroom or change, we are not told everything that they talk about. It was probably spoken about and not written about. (The way I say it, you would think it happened as a history thing!)
