When the blonde lady (the main character) is writing a card on the hood of her car, there is a brown flat paper bag under the card. She takes the card but leaves the bag and gets into her car. The next scene you see her driving off and there is no bag on her hood.
Melanie actually picks up the bag before getting into her car. Her body is blocking the shot, but she picks up the bag with her left hand. She then puts the bag into her right hand, and if you watch closely, puts the bag into the passenger seat using her right hand. I'm adding a picture to show the toss into the passenger seat of the car.
