Mexican,The - Dis-Appearing Rear View Mirror
In the scene with Brad, Julia and James riding down the highway (James is in the middle) you will notice there is no rearview mirror (James would be blocked out if it was there). But after letting James off ;-) and the next scene has only Julia and Brad viola the mirror is back.

Countless movies do this. I believe they remove the rear view mirror so it will be less distracting and not block the view. But, if they are going to do that then they should be consistent and not have it in any of the shots.
