Save the Last Dance - The Magic Head Scarf

The first time Sara goes to Steps (or however the night club spells the name). She has the head scarf on BEFORE she goes in the club. As soon as Chantel and Sara in the club, Sara's lost the head scarf. During different part of the club scenes, she alternately loses and gains the head scarf.

Then he asks, "Do you want Julliard?" HOW does he know that she wants to go to Julliard?
