Christmas Vacation - Attic Door
When Clarke first goes up into the attic, he gets hit in the head by the attic door ladder SLIDING and hitting him in the head. Also, when Ellen's mother puts the attic door up, she slides the ladder. But, when Clarke is yelling for Ellen to get him out of the attic, he stands ON the attic door and picks up the clearly FOLDED ladder and slams it a few times. Now how did the ladder go from a sliding one to a folding one? Also, how did Clarke stand on the door w/ out the door opening and him falling down?

because the ladder itself does both. The first half of the ladder will slide down, and the piece of the ladder on top of it folds down to complete the ladder.
